It's very odd for valve gaming company to be making a sequel to their smash hitting game left 4 dead just one year after its release. Half life and Half life two were 9 years apart. Half life 2 was a phenomena. But, only a year later, is left 4 dead 2 worth the buy? Left 4 Dead two takes place, in southeast United States. Fight your way from Georgia (hey, hey shout out!) swamps to the streets of New Orleans. There are 5 campaigns this time; 3 consist of 5 chapters, and two with four chapters. Also an improvement is that some of the campaigns take place in the day time. Unlike in the first game where all the campaigns were at night. Another interesting thing is that each campaign takes place where the last one finished.
There is a whole new cast. First you have Rochelle the girl who is almost the same as Zoey from the first game. Then you have Elise, your typical southern redneck who just likes to shoot stuff. Then you have Coach a big southern man who was a coach from a high school. And finally you have Nick, your Louisiana con man with his white suit. These four are full of personality with some funny comments when killing zombies. You still have the same 5 special zombies, hunter, boomer, smoker, tank, and witch, but there are some new special zombie types in the game. First you have the jockey: a freaky laughing thing that looks like he's related to Golem from lord of the rings. The jockey jumps on your head and starts clawing you. He's like the hunter except you can move around. Next we have the spitter; she launches acid at you and can do some damage. Finally you have the charger; the charger will bolt up to you and then begin smashing you to the ground.
This time you have melee weapons you can choose either a frying pan, cricket stick, fire ax, crowbar, guitar, night stick, machete, samurai sword, and the chainsaw. Graphic wise, this game has made a major improvement. This game could be one of the goriest games of all time. In the first game when you shot the zombie he might lose his head or a leg or arm, but in this game if you shoot a zombie in the chest his chest explodes and you can see in it. When slicing zombies, you can see the cut where you actually swung. The scenery in the game is breath taking: the sunsets, or the destructive city, or run downed towns all have loads of detail. There is the same verses mode from the first game but now there is a new game mode called scavenge mode. In this mode the human team has to grab gas barrels while the zombie team has to stop them. Also there is a new realism mode, which makes the game even harder if you are craving the challenge. Overall this game is amazing, the graphics, weapons, and zombies make this game a real masterpiece. This game is a for sure buy.
